On a cold night in March of 2010, Bensalem EMS Paramedic Daniel McIntosh
and his partner Paramedic Mike Armstrong responded to a 911 call from the
family of a suicidal male in the area of the 2500 block of Knights Road.
Upon their arrival, they located a subject and his family and attempted to engage
this male in conversation. The male initially cooperated and responded to Dan's questions, then for unknown reasons, this mentally unstable male fled on foot. Dan knew that the male was not only a danger to himself but to innocent members of the community. Dan immediatelygave chase and eventually caught up to the male at the intersection of Dunksferry Road andKiansas Avenue. At that time, Dan McIntosh, a husband and father of two young daughters, suffered a massive heart attack and passed away a short time later at Aria's Torresdale Campus. Dan was only 39 years old at the time of his death.

"Danny Mac" as he was known to his family and friends, was a thirteen year veteran of the Bensalem Emergency Medical Services. Dan served numerous other Bucks County communities as a paramedic, volunteer firefighter since 1993. He had become a volunteer firefighter for the Point Pleasant Fire Company and had achieved Life member status. He was a member of the Nottingham Fire Department , a newly sworn Police Officer for The Hulmeville Borough Police Department and a TAC Medic for the Bucks County Southern Swat Team and the Bucks County Hazardous Material SWAT Team. Dan's life was dedicated to service, and he lost his life doing what he loved.
This web site's goal is to raise awareness for the Daniel McIntosh Memorial Fund and to keep the memory of Bensalem's Fallen Hero alive.
